JKFOOTBALL Top 100 Players for 2021: 29-20

Image
After today's batch reveal of the top 100, we will officially be inside the top 20! The list is really starting to get to the best of the best. In the last reveal we saw a former MVP (Lamar Jackson), one of the best receivers all-time (Julio Jones), and even the reigning OROY (Justin Herbert). What elite names will hit the list today in spots 29-20? 29. Trent Williams, Offensive Tackle, San Fransisco 49ers 2020 stats: 957 snaps played, 4 sacks allowed, 10 penalties, 91.9 PFF Grade Despite being 32 years old, Trent Williams remains one of, if not the best, tackles in the NFL. After spending pretty much all of his career in Washington, Williams found a new home for the first time last off-season with the 49ers and instantly made a major impact. Despite some injury, Williams played most of the season and turned in another All-Pro caliber resume. He allowed just 4 sacks the entire season and finished the year with an elite 91.9 PFF grade. Not only is Williams one of the best pass blo...

JKFOOTBALL Top 100 Players for 2021: 39-30

Not much to say at the start here other then we continue working our way down the top 100 for this coming year and we are starting to really get down to it. After today, we will be into the top 30! 39. Budda Baker, Safety, Arizona Cardinals 2020 stats: 118 total tackles, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 INTs, 6 pass deflections Ever since joining the Cardinals as a second round pick in 2017, Baker has been nothing short of amazing. He has gotten better every single year and has officially made the jump into the tier of elite safeties following his stellar 2020 campaign. While it may be overshadowed by DK Metcalf tracking him down on a would have been pick 6, Baker was damn good all year. He was the best player on the Cardinals defense by far and just did it all for them. Over 100 tackles, 2 picks, 6 breakups, 2 sacks, a forced fumble. He was everywhere. He was rewarded with a massive contract extension before the season which has him making over $15 million a year and is worth every p...

JKFOOTBALL Top 100 Players for 2021: 49-40

After a brief break in the list with it officially being halfway revealed, we are back. Today we are starting to get down to the elite of the elite as we see who hits the list from spots 49-40.  49. Cameron Jordan, Edge Rusher, New Orleans Saints 2020 stats: 51 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 3 pass deflections  One of the best edge rushers in our game. Cameron Jordan has been one of the most consistently dominant forces off the edge for the last 7-8 years. After three straight seasons of having 12 or more sacks, Jordan's production took a bit of a dip in 2020 in which he only had 7.5 sacks. Despite the numbers going down, the presence of Jordan was felt as others' on the Saints D-line thrived including breakout rusher Trey Hendrickson who had near the top of the league in sacks. Jordan being there causes opponents to double him and focus much attention to him to then give other players an easier job getting to the QB. Despite him being 31 years old and poten...

JKFOOTBALL Top 100 Players for 2021: 59-50

With this next batch reveal of our top 100, we will officially be halfway done with naming 50/100 of the players we expect to be the best in the league for 2021. Rounding out the first 50 are these players... 59. Mike Evans, Wide Receiver, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2020 stats: 70 receptions, 1006 yards, 13 TDs receiving Yet another member of the Super Bowl winning Tampa Bay Bucs cracks the top 100 and this time it's another receiver from the team in Mike Evans. Looking at the stats, they aren't too eye popping. 1000 yards is a great season but the best of the best get more than that. What the main thing to look at here with his stats are the 13 TDs. That is a lot. 13 TDs is elite for a WR. Evans was instantly Tom Brady's favorite target in his legendary first season in Tampa. In the redzone Evans was the guy he looked for every time. At 6'4, Evans is a massive target for a wideout and gave Tom Brady a safety blanket to throw the ball up to. The Bucs WR1 was probably the be...

JKFOOTBALL Top 100 Players for 2021: 69-60

It's been a couple of days since the last batch of our top 100 list came out but we are right back to it naming players 69-60 on the list as we are close to rounding out the bottom half of the elite list.  69. Matthew Stafford, Quarterback, Los Angeles Rams 2020 stats: 4084 yards, 26 TDs, 10 INTs passing For a former no. 1 overall pick in an NFL draft, it is hard to become underrated as a player. That is pretty much exactly what has happened with Stafford. A super hyped up QB heading into the NFL 10 years ago, he was supposed to give the Lions that franchise guy that could finally lift them out of the dumpster and into contention. With the garbage roster the Lions put around Stafford year in and year out, this was never achievable, but Stafford has been an elite QB all this time. Tucked away in the misery of Detroit, people have really forgot about how good Stafford is. He is a top 10 QB in the NFL and was finally traded out of Detroit into potentially the best possible situ...

Julio Jones TRADED to TENNESSEE! Grading the Trade

Image
The expected finally happened earlier this weekend. Julio Jones was officially shipped out of Atlanta after a storied run. He finds himself on his way to a city not far from ATL with an offense that is hungry for his arrival. The Tennessee Titans made the trade for Julio Jones, giving up a 2022 second round draft pick and a 2023 4th to get it done. Today we look into the 3 sides of the deal (both teams + Julio himself) and grade how we think each side did. Tennessee Titans: We begin with the Titans. WHAT. A. MOVE. As the trade talks and rumors around Julio Jones swirled for weeks on end right after the draft, the Titans remained in the hunt for Jones. They were eager from the start and clearly stayed in it until the end. Teams like the Rams, Patriots, Ravens, and 49ers were in hot pursuit from the start but all dropped out for their own reasons. When within 3-4 days of the deal finally happening, a surprising team made a late run at Julio. That team was the Seattle Seahawks who s...
