Head Coaching Primer: Coaching Carousel about to Spin Wild

Image
One of the most interesting parts of every NFL off-season is the hiring/firing of HC's all around the league when creates new beginnings and optimism all around. We've already seen Urban Meyer fired by Jacksonville and that will be just the beginning. Today we will touch on everything HC related. Candidates, who should be fired, who should get another year, and more. This might be a long one but is definitely an article to refer back to. HOT SEAT COACHES (and if they should be fired or not) Matt Nagy, Chicago Bears The coach with the hottest seat in the league is obviously Matt Nagy. While the team has made the playoffs twice under him, they haven't really been good at all. There are a ton of critical errors made by this team on a weekly basis and he just does not seem to hold the respect of his players. I'm assuming the Bears will let him finish out the final two games and then move in a different direction. VERDICT: Nagy should be fired Matt Rhule, Carolina Panthers...

Week 17 NFL Power Rankings: Cowboys Rise, Chargers Drop + Week 16 Players of the Week

Image
Here we are. The final two weeks of the regular season. The playoff picture continues to become clearer by the week but the thing that is most clear through it all is that the entire picture as a whole will come down to the final week of the season next week. This is when the NFL gets amazing. Below are our rankings going into the final two weeks + the players of week 16! 1. Green Bay Packers (12-3) Previously #1 While they may have deserved to lose and got a bit lucky with a call, the Packers still won. They still boast the best record in the NFL and are in the drivers seat to take the no. 1 seed in the NFC for the second straight season. Credit CB Rasul Douglas as he has been a revelation for this team and defense and make yet another crucial INT on Saturday. 2. Kansas City Chiefs (11-4) Previously #2 After the way this season started, no one would have thought the Packers and Chiefs would be the likely no. 1 seeds heading into the final two weeks of the season. Somehow, some w...

Week 16 NFL Power Rankings + Wk 15 Players of the Week

Image
What a weird week it was but one that will carry so much meaning for the playoffs. There were games on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. As things become clearer in the playoff picture, so do our power rankings. I'm on vacation right now so not much will be said for each spot. 1. Green Bay Packers (11-3) Previously #2 + Best record in the NFL, the Packers continue to find ways to win with Aaron Rodgers looking like he could win a second-straight MVP. Packers finally get the top spot back! 2. Kansas City Chiefs (10-4) Previously #5 + Not quite sure how they've done it, but the Chiefs are back to being the best team in the AFC. Patrick Mahomes appears to be BACK! How about that defense too?! 3. Los Angeles Rams (10-4) Previously #7 + Huge win for the Rams to take their third straight. Cooper Kupp continues to be the best WR in the NFL and this defense is rounding into form. One thing I will say is the NFL gifted them this win with the terrible calls going in the ...

JKFOOTBALL Pro Bowl Team 21-22

Image
With pro bowl voting coming to an end today, and the game's biggest stars about to be honored with selections, we decided we would form the team of players WE think deserves to make the Pro Bowl! Our own JKFOOTBALL Pro Bowl 21-22 roster! There is going to be some controversy, some snubs, etc, but there always is! That's why this is fun. We will see how close we get to the real thing as well, but we probably will have a bunch off as some close calls were very personal opinion! Here we go. (The * means who we think the starter should be) Quarterback NFC: *Tom Brady (Bucs)*, Aaron Rodgers (Packers), Kyler Murray (Cardinals) AFC: *Justin Herbert (Chargers)*, Josh Allen (Bills), Mac Jones (Patriots) Here are our 6 QBs. The NFC has a lot more better QBs than the AFC, leading the way for a surprise ROOKIE Mac Jones to sneak in as the AFC's 3rd QB. Our two starters, Brady and Herbert have been playing lights out all year and are symbols of the past and future of the game. Aaron R...

Week 15 NFL Game Picks: How does COVID Effect Huge Matches?

Image
Just like that, we are at the doorstep of week 15 and are soon going to be winding down the regular season and starting the playoffs!! Before any of that can happen though, we need to get through the recent COVID craziness in the NFL which is sure to have big impacts on important playoff implicated games this week. Guys will probably continue to be ruled out with COVID til the very last minute, but before this huge TNF game tonight, here are our predictions with the way things stand at the current moment. Week 14 Predictions Record: 8-6 2021 Season Overall: 122-85-1 Thursday Night Football - Kansas City Chiefs (9-4) at Los Angeles Chargers (8-5) What. A. Game. To open up the all-important week comes one of the best match-ups we are going to see all season. Two AFC West rivals, heating up at the right time, playing on the Thursday night primetime lights for sole possession of 1st place in the West. The Chargers shocked KC early on in the season at Arrowhead and held the division f...
