Conference Championship Weekend Predictions: Who Goes to the Super Bowl?

Image
Just four teams remain. After one of the most unpredictable and wild NFL seasons we've ever seen, an unlikely set of 4 teams remain. Everyone expected the Chiefs to be here as they've been one of the best teams in football for the past few seasons. Some expected the Rams to be here, they have a great roster but who knew how well it would mesh. Few predicted the Niners to be here after their horrendous 2021 season. I can safely say no one saw the Bengals to be here. Their rapid growth into an elite team was quite unexpected but is also a true testament to the skill of Joe Burrow. So here we are, four teams remain, and on Sunday night, by about 7 pm Eastern, we will finally know which two clubs will be meeting in the heavily anticipated Super Bowl 56. Today, we will try and predict who those two teams will be.  4 Cincinnati Bengals at 2 Kansas City Chiefs   Well, give me some props here. I had the Bengals making it here in my initial playoff predictions. I did not have th...

Head Coaching Match-Maker: Best Candidate for Each Open Job

Image
We are up to 9 HC vacancies in the NFL right now after the sudden and shocking retirement of Saints' great Sean Payton. Suddenly the Saints join the long list of teams with an open HC job. It is a little surprising to see that no team has hired their guy yet, but we expect that to change in the coming day or two as certain teams have just hired their new GMs and will pick their coach to go with it very very soon. We are going to look at each HC vacancy and give them a candidate we think they might/should hire in the end. We are taking into account what we think teams are going to do, who they've interviewed, who they seem interested in, and more. We also decided to put our predicted runner-up/guy who could or maybe almost will get each job behind who we have picked. Let's go. New York Giants: Brian Daboll, 46 years old (Current Bills Offensive Coordinator)   Brian Daboll to the New York Giants feels like a perfect match, and one that may just be about to happen. Daboll wa...

Divisional Round Recap: Best Weekend of Football EVER?? + Should OT Rules Go?

Image
Oh. My. God. What a weekend. That last 48 hours of football has everyone's jaws on the ground. What did we just witness. After a snoozefest of a wildcard weekend, the Divisional Round might have been the best weekend of football we've ever seen. 4/4 games came down to the final play and 3/4 games resulted in upset wins. The only game in which the favorite won, they probably should have lost! Let's get into each game of this monumental Divisional round. 49ers 13, Packers 10 49ers:  In a weekend of shockers, this might have been the most shocking result. The underdog Niners came into Green Bay with nothing but adrenaline and the hunger to knock off the Super Bowl favorite Packers. They did just that. They played the entire game like they would have wanted to, running the football well and playing good defense. For much of the game, the defense held up, but the offense was very incapable of sustaining drives. Then came the game changing play late in the 4th. Down 10-3 but ab...

Divisional Round Game Picks: Multiple Upsets?

Image
Just like that we've gone from 14 teams to just 8, and in just a couple of days time, we will be down to the final four. It's a great time to be an NFL fan but at the same time it's bittersweet knowing that we are almost done with football for the season. However, don't let that fact distract you from us having two more weekends of amazing games and then the Super Bowl! 2021-22 Playoff Predictions Record: 5-1 4 Cincinnati Bengals at 1 Tennessee Titans I've been saying this and I will keep saying that these are the two biggest wildcard teams in the post-season. They were coming into it last week and remain that way going into this anticipated match-up. Depending on how they come out and play on Saturday, we will get a true sense for if one or even both are/were true Super Bowl contenders. Starting with the Bengals, they come in fresh off of their first playoff win in 30+ years. That has got to feel good. They are not going to be satisfied with that though. Joe B...

Divisional Round Power Rankings: What is Each Remaining Team's Fatal Flaw?

Image
Didn't think I was going to do another power rankings, but here we are. There is just 8 teams to rank now, not even going to bother with the losing 6 from wildcard weekend. This is no longer just really off record or anything like that but instead my personal beliefs on the teams with the best shots to win a Super Bowl of the remaining teams. When talking about each team, we are going to discuss their biggest flaw that could cost them a chance at the Lombardi. Here we go. 1. Green Bay Packers (13-4) Previously #1 What's next: vs. San Francisco 49ers (Saturday) The Packers are still the favorites to win it all if you ask me, but the favorite rarely wins it all. Coming off of their first round bye, I think their biggest flaw is going to be rust/gelling as a team. That being said, you can see that it is hard to find something wrong with this club. However, this is very true for this team. They are getting a couple of their best players back from injury who have missed significan...

2021-22 Players of the Week Recap

Since the regular season is and has been over for a week now, we thought it would be a great time to make a quick recap list of every winner of the week for the 2021-22 regular season just to look back. This is just for pure entertainment and memory! O POTW = offensive player of the week D POTW = defensive player of the week ST POTW = special teams player of the week (#) = number of times they've won the award this season, if multiple Week # | O POTW | D POTW | ST POTW | Rookie OTW | Team OTW Wk 1         Kyler Murray   Chandler Jones    N/A                   Rashawn Slater          New Orleans Saints (1-0)                     QB, Cardinals    DE, Cardinals                                       ...
