JKNFLFOOTBALL Top 100 Players for 2022: 60-51

Image
Our top 100 continues with players 60-51 on the list. After today's edition of the top 100 we will officially be inside of the top 50 players for the upcoming season! This is really where every spot gets super debatable and it was nearly impossible to order these superstars. Here we go! 60. Darren Waller, Tight End, Las Vegas Raiders | LAST YEAR: #37 | 2021 stats: 55 receptions for 665 yards, 2 TDs receiving (limited to only 11 games due to injury) After his unreal 2021 season in which he eclipsed over both 1,000 yards and 100 receptions, Darren Waller came back to reality a bit in 2021. Injuries didn't help his case, but he was still not AS dominant when on the field as he was in 2020. There's a lot of talk about how a guy like Kyle Pitts (already on this top 100) could be developing into the next true match-up nightmare in the NFL. Waller is already exhibit A. At 6'6 and 255 pounds with legit 4.4 speed, Waller is a puzzle that few can solve. Who are you supposed to ...

What Different Team Building Strategies Exist Within the NFL? A Deep-Dive Study (Launchpad)

What are the different distinct team building ‘strategies’ within the NFL? How do these different strategies translate to team success? In a 32 team league, where there is still a third of the league that has never once hoisted the Vince Lombardi trophy, these questions seem to be pretty important for determining how to go about constructing a roster with the end goal in mind of winning a Super Bowl title. Over the course of the last three weeks, I’ve been trying to determine the answers to these two questions through a large data analysis. My goal was to split the 32 NFL franchises into 4-8 “buckets” which would hold the different team-building styles. As a lifelong fan of the NFL I had a strong prediction going into this project that the good teams and bad teams would easily distinguish themselves from one another via the stats and that the “buckets” would clearly illustrate the winning teams and the losing ones. What I discovered was that the most important aspects that translate to...

JKNFLFOOTBALL Top 100 Players for 2022: 80-61

On the first installment of our annual top 100 players list, we revealed the first 20 players on the list. Today we give you the next 20 as we ultimately work our way down to the top 50 and then so on and so forth all the way to #1! Let's get it. 80. Robert Quinn, Edge Rusher, Chicago Bears | LAST YEAR: N/A | 2021 stats: 18.5 sacks, 49 total tackles, 4 forced fumbles For the first time since 2013, old Mr. Robert Quinn cracked an All-Pro team. Who would have predicted the 2021 season that Quinn just had? It's rare for an edge rusher above the age of 30 to be among the best at the position in the league period, so to see the level that Robert Quinn elevated his play to was just mind blowing. The 32 year old had the second best season of his lengthy 11 year playing career and was able to crack second team All-Pro for doing so. He was simply a machine off the edge as his sacks were the second most in the league behind the actual DPOY (TJ Watt). Quinn was also within the top 5 in mo...

It's that time of year! After debuting last off-season, my top 100 players for the upcoming season list returns for its second annual year! Over the next few days/weeks, I'll be revealing in parts the list of the top 100 players in my eyes for the upcoming season. This is not just a reflection of how good a player was in 2021 but also how I think them and their team might do in 2022. There are bound to be some pretty big snubs. Today we reveal the first 20 players (100-81)! In addition to talking about the player and showing their stats from 2021, I will also write if they were on the list or not last year and where they might have been on the list (to show movement year to year)! If they have an N/A it means they were not on the list last season. Remember, no upcoming rookies on this list either! Here we go! 100. Evan McPherson, Kicker, Cincinnati Bengals | LAST YEAR: N/A | 2021 stats: 28/33 FGs (85%), 46/48 XPs, 58 LONG | 14/14 on FGs in playoffs (including 2 game winning k...
