Championship Weekend Picks: Who is Going to Super Bowl 57?

Image
I can't believe we are here. After a wild 2022 season, we are one day away from finding out which two teams will be squaring off in the biggest game of the year. These four remaining teams are the clearcut best 4 teams in football and we can only assume that whoever wins tomorrow deserved it and will set up for an amazing Super Bowl. This is probably the most parity we've seen in the NFL in awhile. Let me get into my picks, and let me just say, I've been on FIRE with my predictions in this post-season, so let's have that continue tomorrow! Last Week's Record: 4-0 Playoffs Overall: 9-1 2022 Season Overall (reg. season + playoffs): 161-102-2 NFC Championship 2 San Francisco 49ers at 1 Philadelphia Eagles [3 pm ET] This game has the makings of an instant classic. The two clear cut best teams in the NFC facing off for the first time this year with everything on the line. The most exciting part of this game is the fact that whoever wins is going to send a young QB to t...

Predicting Who Will Fill Each Head Coaching Vacancy + Reich Hire Analysis

Image
Even though Championship weekend is about to hit full swing in the NFL, the off-season is already in full-swing for 28 other teams right now. With many head coach openings across the league, and one filled today (Frank Reich to the Panthers) it is time to make some predictions (or at least educated guesses) as to who will fill the other vacancies! Let's get into it! Frank Reich → Carolina Panthers The first HC domino has fallen of the 2023 cycle! In a job race that reportedly came down to interim HC Steve Wilks, Cowboys' OC Kellen Moore, and Reich, the proven veteran ultimately won out. I actually like this hire and fit a lot for the Panthers. Many analysts and Panthers' fans have not appeared to be happy in the immediate hours after the news. Many wanted Wilks to win the job as he proved to be a "plus" coach when he took over for Matt Rhule at the mid-season. While I do agree that Wilks was definitely a good candidate and is a guy who deserves a second chance a...

JKFOOTBALL All-Pro Team 2022-23: Multiple Rookie DBs??!

Image
This is one of my favorite classic annual exercises on my site, and it is back again for another year! With the regular season obviously over with now, it is time to reflect on the best of the best from 2022-23. The AP and other big outlets release their All-Pro teams of the season, noting the best players at each position based on just how they played this regular season. I like to make my own one as well. While I will definitely have a lot of similar picks to the main ones, I will also have some unique ones as well as we go through this I'm sure. Here we go! *At the bottom of each position I have a "second-team" where I write who I would pick to be my All-Pro second team, so basically the next best guy at each spot for fun* OFFENSE Quarterback: Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs Statline: 5,250 yards, 41 TDs, 12 INTs passing | 61 carries for 358 yards, 4 TDs rushing Not a surprise to head our team. Patrick Mahomes has been the best QB in the NFL since his first year ...

Divisional Round 2023 Game Picks: Can the Jags Keep the Magic Alive?

Image
After a nearly perfect weekend of picking wildcard games, I press on to the divisional round where I hope to keep my record on the up! There were some great games in the first round, but this round should treat us to even BETTER ones. Last year the four divisional games produced arguably the best weekend of football ever. All four games ended in a walk off score, including the all-timer that was the Bills/Chiefs OT game. Today I pick the 4 winners who I see advancing to the Conference Championship round! I cannot believe how close we are getting to the Super Bowl! Last Week's Record: 5-1 Playoffs Overall: 5-1 2022 Season Overall (reg. season + playoffs): 157-102-2 SATURDAY 4 Jacksonville Jaguars at 1 Kansas City Chiefs [4:30 pm ET] Starting the weekend off with a bang! This is a super intriguing divisional round matchup that pits the future in Trevor Lawrence and the Jags with the present and proven that is Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Is Lawrence really ready to be considered...

Divisional Round Power Rankings: Stacking up the Elite 8

Image
After a wild wildcard weekend, we are officially into the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. There now are just 8 teams remaining on the path to a Lombardi Trophy. Things are getting real now. While I will have my game picks later this week, I'm going to rank the the remaining 8! 1. Philadelphia Eagles Last Week: #1 The Eagles remain the top dog in the tournament after their rest week. We all know how big it was for this team specifically to earn the bye and get some of their top players well rested and ready to go for the long road to the Super Bowl. With that being said, the Eagles are now looking healthy as ever. They will host the Giants this weekend for the right to host the NFC title game at Lincoln Financial Field. This is a good match-up for Philly given that they are a convincing 2-0 vs the Giants this year. Jalen Hurts should be a full go and will not hold back on the divisional rivals. 2. Kansas City Chiefs Last Week: #2 The Chiefs also remain the no. 2 team after T...

2023 NFL Mock Draft 1.0: Do Bears Go QB at 1?

Image
Mock draft season is officially upon us! This is honestly one of my favorite times of the year. The playoffs obviously, but mock drafting and speculating about where the top college prospects will land at the next level is super exciting and always very fun to start doing. Today is my official FIRST mock draft of the "off-season". The top 24 picks are set with the final 7 to be decided in the coming weeks with conclusion of the playoffs. The best part about starting my first mock in the very beginning off the off-season is getting to see how far the prospects rise and fall by the time April rolls around. The Bears are now on the clock... *Since this is my first mock of the off-season, I will not be predicting any mock trades. Those will come in MD 2.0 and further* 1. Chicago Bears - Jalen Carter, Defensive Tackle, Georgia It took the Bears all 18 weeks to end up with the top selection in the draft, but here they are. With a little luck, they have earned the rights to the to...
