2023 Mock Draft 4.0: Lions have Dream First Round!

Image
Less than a month to go until the NFL draft officially kicks off and after a wild few weeks of free agency since my last mock draft, I decided it was time to drop my 4.0. edition to reflect all the changes now that teams have reloaded during the period. I am also projecting a new big trade inside the top 3! 1. Carolina Panthers (via CHI) select: CJ Stroud, Quarterback, Ohio State A few weeks after the Panthers moved up to no. 1 and I still see them taking CJ Stroud. I personally would take Bryce Young here, but all I am hearing points to Stroud. The Panthers loaded UP in FA on the offensive side of the football, adding stud talents in RB Miles Sanders, WR DJ Chark among others. Stroud is a very day 1 ready prospect who should be elite pretty quickly. Stroud possesses great arm talent and accuracy, and is a lot more mobile than given credit for. This feels like a very safe pick for a team who hopes they have finally found their signal caller of the future here at 1. 2. Houston Tex...

My FAVORITE Non-Day-1 Prospects for the 2023 NFL Draft

Image
I know it has been a week since I dropped an article, I have been busy but will hopefully get back on my usual schedule soon. I will have some post-free agency rankings and whatnot coming up as well as a new mock draft, but today I wanted to talk about some prospects for the rapidly approaching 2023 draft that don't get as much national attention because they may not be first round prospects. Today I will rattle off some of my favorite projected 2nd-7th round guys who deserve some hype. Obviously things will change and a few of these guys may wind up sneaking into round 1, but I am going to talk about guys who I haven't really mocked in the first yet to this point!  J.L. Skinner, Safety, Boise State My projection: Rds. 2-3 You do not see prospects like this very often, if ever. I feel like the last time I saw a comparable S prospect to Skinner was Bam Bam Kam Chancellor who was a force in Seattle for years and a potential Hall of Famer. Skinner is actually BIGGER than Chance...

Biggest & Best Moves of the 2023 Off-Season (So Far)

Image
Now that we are about a week into the off-season officially beginning, it is time to go over some of the biggest moves that we have seen yet. The NFL landscape has already shifted greatly as contenders have reloaded and bottom feeders have loaded up. I am going to go over some of my favorite moves so far in the first week of FA and what they mean! Dolphins trade a 2023 third-rounder, TE Hunter Long for CB Jalen Ramsey MIA Grade: A LAR Grade: C+ One of the biggest names we knew could be on the move this off-season was Jalen Ramsey, and it did not take long. The Rams traded the former All-Pro and Super Bowl champion to the Miami Dolphins for just a third-round pick and reserve TE Hunter Long. Obviously it isn't just the player you are moving/trading for and there is a contract attached (which was the kicker here). The Rams wanted to get off of Ramsey's albatross deal that has him PAID for the next two seasons while Miami is in win-now mode and likely just created the best CB du...

2023 Mock Draft 3.0: HUGE Fallout from Panthers' Trade and Combine!

Image
Well the NFL world certainly got some shocking news on Friday. The Bears have long been known to be considering moving the no. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, and they have now actually done it. The Carolina Panthers gave Chicago a KING'S RANSOM to move up from pick 9 to 1 and have a chance to take whoever they want. The Panthers gave their 2023 first (the 9th pick), a 2024 first, a 2023 second, a 2024 second, AND WR DJ Moore to the Bears for the singular pick. What a HAUL. I think Bear GM Ryan Poles pulled off a masterclass but that is a different story for a different day. With the combine also in the rearview mirror, this mock will have a lot of changes to my 2.0. one and will be the last one before NFL FA opens which will shake things up as well! Lets get into it. 1. Carolina Panthers (via CHI) select: CJ Stroud, Quarterback, Ohio State Let me start out by saying these mock drafts are supposed to be a prediction more than anything, not necessarily what I personally woul...
