Conference Championship Week 2024 NFL Mock Draft (w/TRADES)

Image
It has been almost 4 weeks since our last in-season mock draft, and with so much having happened in college football (and NFL) in that time, now felt like a great time to release my third out of likely four total IN SEASON NFL mock drafts. The order becomes a bit closer to what it will be, team needs become more clear, and we know just a bit more about players in the draft. One example is Colorado star QB Shedeur Sanders has been rumored likely to return to school for 2024, for that reason he will not be included in today's mock. That is not official yet, but it feels like a 95% sure thing. Today I will have mock TRADES as well, to spice things up!  1. Chicago Bears (via CAR) select: Caleb Williams, Quarterback, USC This top pick is yet to change in any of my first three mocks, and I don't see that changing for awhile. Caleb Williams remains probably the best QB prospect I've ever seen myself. He is the closest thing we've seen to the All-World Patrick Mahomes. He is...

Mid-Season 2023 NFL Power Rankings: How High Do the Texans Climb?

Image
As promised, here comes my second power rankings of the season! We did one at the quarter-way mark about a month or so back, and now about a month later, comes my second of probably 4 power rankings for this 2023 season. What's changed in the last month? Biggest risers, fallers? Find out now! Like the first go-around, I will have a little extra. I will list each team's MVP to this point in the season. Last time I listed each team's X-factor player.  1. Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) Previously: #2 ↑ In the past month or so the Eagles haven't moved up much: as they have moven from 2 to the mere ranking of #1. Jokes aside, Philly has the best record in football, and so it feels almost like by default that they get this top spot at the mid-season. This year there doesn't feel like ONE team that is so much better than the rest, and so given just the one loss, Philly takes the top spot. Being 8-1 and coming off of a Super Bowl berth, you would think this team is just as goo...

2023 NFL Mid-Season Awards + Super Bowl Prediction

Image
I can't believe we are already halfway through the NFL season. It feels like just yesterday that the Lions and Chiefs were kicking off that opening game. What a fun season it has been so far with so much parity in the league and no one true overpowered team or runaway MVP. That just makes these mid-season awards that much more fun. With 9 weeks gone and 9 weeks to go, it is time for me to release my annual mid-season awards and also my mid-season Super Bowl prediction. Last year I predicted 3 out of the 7 major awards correctly at the mid-season and even more impressively, I predicted the eventual Super Bowl match-up correctly but had the Eagles winning instead of the Chiefs. Let's see if I can beat that 3 (and a half) out of 8 this year! Coach of the Year 3. DeMeco Ryans, Houston Texans Coach of the weird is kind of a strange award. It rarely is given to the best overall team in the NFL and instead usually the coach whose team was a lot better than expected, especially to rook...
