Best Free Available Free Agents Left
It's been a downright wild first four days of NFL free agency. We've seen big signings, we've seen big name cuts, and we've even seen a few trades. This might be one of the deepest FA classes to date. Four days in and we still have tons and tons of talent available. With the cap lowered and so many players being cut, we are in line to see some teams get major bargains on stud players. Here are JKFOOTBALL's top free agents that are still available.
Kyle Fuller, Cornerback: One of the most shocking moves thus far of this off-season went down earlier today when the Bears announced they released former All-Pro CB Kyle Fuller. Still just 29 years old, Fuller is thought of as one of the league's top corners still and will have almost every team in the league interested in securing his services. Coming off 65 tackle, 8 pass defense, 1 INT season, his value is still very high. Possible FA team fits: Broncos, Colts, Raiders
Kenny Golladay, Wide Receiver: Golladay is another top player at his position group that somehow has found his way to the open market. He is expected to meet with the New York Giants tonight in person for a visit and we know he has interest from the Cincinatti Bengals and Chicago Bears among others. When healthy, Golladay is a top 15 WR in the league. He is a go up and get it kinda guy and has amazing hands. He really didn't play much due to injury last season for Detroit but team's have not forgotten this guy is elite. Possible FA team fits: Giants, Bengals, Bears
Jadeveon Clowney, Edge Rusher: The former number 1 overall pick in the draft Clowney is back on the open market for the second straight year. After an up and down 2019 season with Seattle, Clowney signed a large one year deal with Tennessee to prove he was worth the money longterm that he wanted. It's safe to say he didn't prove that as he really was a non-factor for them when he played and then had a season ending injury around midseason. Now this really could be the make or break point for him in his career. He is still sure to have some interest around the league and I'm confident that if he finds the right situation, he can still revive his career. Possible FA team fits: Ravens, Browns, Seahawks
Chris Carson, Running Back: Chris Carson still being available sums up how the market has been for free agent running backs...dry. What was thought to be a deep RB class with many guys sure to be flying off the board really hasn't panned out. Carson who was deemed by many as the best RB available is yet to receive much interest. Coming off a 4 year stint in Seattle that saw him rush for over 1000 yards twice and coming off a season where he was hurt a lot but still rushed for over 650 yards, Carson would be a great RB1 for a lot of teams. The bruising, tackle breaking machine could be a championship pickup for a team on the cusp of contending. At this point, a reunion with Seattle is becoming increasingly likely. Possible FA team fits: Seahawks, Falcons, Dolphins
Mitchell Schwartz, Offensive Tackle: Another former all-pro player still on the open market, Schwartz figures to still be someone who gets paid despite still being here 4 days in. A surprising cut by the Chiefs, Schwartz was the definition of consistency during his time in KC and will be a big loss for the defending AFC champs. While he is 32, for a top tier tackle, most teams would consider that actually fairly young. Schwartz still has a ton left in the tank. Another championship kind of move by whoever adds him. Possible FA team fits: Bears, Bengals, Colts
Adoree' Jackson, Cornerback: Another surprise cut that went under the radar, Adoree' Jackson is a free agent. The CB who is only 25 years old should have a pretty strong market. While he was really up and down during his time in Tennessee, the talent and potential is right there. He's been banged up his past 2 years in Tennessee but has shown that he might be able to put the pieces together and show he's a top corner when healthy. Jackson could be a major breakout this season on a new team, he possesses so much talent and potential and is one of the fastest DBs in the league. I expect him to have a market. Possible FA team fits: Packers, Chargers, 49ers, Cowboys
Melvin Ingram, Edge Rusher: I'm shocked a guy like Ingram is still available on the market. Sure, he's been oft injured as of late for the Chargers, but man, whenever he's on the field, he's one of the best players on it. The former pro bowl rusher has posted at least 7 sacks every season since 2014 (leaving out last season in which he was injured). This level of consistency at one of the most important positions in the league should have teams really interested. Possible FA team fits: Ravens, Browns, Chiefs
Antonio Brown, Wide Receiver: Brown was in the news mid-season of 2020 when he essentially came out of retirement to join Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. After he came back, not much was said about him and he quietly enjoyed a great end of the season in Tampa and then went on to win a Super Bowl with them. Now a free agent again, Brown could be an amazing WR3 for whatever team was willing to take a chance on him again. I think there's a chance he heads back to Tampa but I'd look for teams that have a star QB that Brown would want to play with to be the favorites to sign him. Possible FA team fits: Buccaneers, Packers, Seahawks, Ravens
Leonard Fournette, Running Back: Another Bucs role player from last season, Fournette too, is a free agent again. It's been reported the Seahawks have interest in Fournette if they cannot retain Chris Carson but the Bucs also have an offer in to him to return. Fournette showed off his skillset last season during Tampa's SB run. He offers a unicorn like size/speed package that a lot of teams will covet in an RB. Fournette should wind up with a nice role wherever he plays in 2021. Possible FA team fits: Buccaneers, Seahawks, Patriots
David Andrews, Center: After sitting out 2019 due to injury, Andrews was back in the lineup for New England last year and he resurfaced as one of the best centers in the game. Andrews was the definition of an anchor for the Pats O-line and can do the same to any team he winds up joining. Im shocked he hasn't signed for good money somewhere yet as the top tier O-lineman have really flown off the board in this year's FA. Possible FA team fits: Chiefs, Bengals, Jaguars
Keanu Neal, Safety: One of the most under the radar stars on the open market this off-season, Neal who was injured last season, is back and ready to return to his once elite level play from a few seasons ago. At just 26 years of age, Neal has his whole career ahead of him still. He's been injury prone over the course of his young career but played the whole season this past year and was great. At his best, he's maybe a top 5-10 safety in the whole league. He hasn't seen much interest this off-season and he could end up being a major bargain for a team that takes a chance on him. I really think Dallas should and probably will take a flier on him. Possible FA team fits: Cowboys, Patriots, Eagles
