Best Game of Every Week of 2021: NFL Schedule Release 21'

Today we finally found out who everyone is playing and when for this coming season with the NFL schedule release. Based off of team matches, storylines, and more, we decided to name which game every week of the season looks like it will be the best from today's standpoint. There are over 10 games in week as we know so there were some tough choices and some honorable mentions will be made.

Week 1: Cleveland Browns @ Kansas City Chiefs (4:25 pm ET)

It was tough to put a game over the NFL kickoff game which is always so hyped up considering it's the first regular season game in months and it features the defending champs, but this game TOPS it. We get a rematch of the insane game that we saw go down in the AFC Divisional round this past season where the Browns came within inches of stopping the Chiefs on 4th down and giving their offense and chance to go down and win it. Now we get the rematch in the same venue. The Browns and Chiefs were also among the teams who had the best off-seasons and we will see a ton of new talent on either side facing off. This game should have been prime time, it will be the best game of week 1. Week 1 Honorable Mentions: Cowboys @ Bucs, Jets @ Panthers

Week 2: Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens (SNF)

Our first two games of the week happen to feature the KC Chiefs...crazy. Not really. The Chiefs are obviously one of the two or three best teams in the league so all of their games are going to be important. In this one, they play their seemingly yearly match against Baltimore. This game always gets a ton of hype but with Mahomes, KC always wins. This time could be different. The Ravens had a great off-season and are looking to re-establish themselves as the cream of the crop in the AFC. Orlando Brown Jr. (now of the Chiefs) facing off against his former squad. And it all is on the bright lights of Sunday Night primetime. This will be a good one. Week 2 Honorable Mentions: Bills @ Dolphins, Titans @ Seahawks

Week 3: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Los Angeles Rams (4:25 pm ET)

How was this not a primetime game for this week? In a week with one of the worst TNF games scheduled (Houston vs Carolina), this game kicks off in the later window during the day. We will see Tom Brady and the defending champ Bucs head to LA to face off against the new look Rams that are pushing the Bucs as the favorites in the NFC for the Super Bowl. This game is sure to have massive playoff implications so early in the year and whoever comes out on top will establish themselves as the NFC favorite early on. Let's not forget that even with Jared Goff, the Rams beat the Bucs last year during the regular season. The Bucs then went on to win the Super Bowl. This has potential to be one of the best games of the entire season. Week 3 Honorable Mentions: Chargers @ Chiefs, Washington Football Team @ Bills

Week 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New England Patriots (SNF)

Due to the storyline, this could be a one of the most remembered and talked about games in NFL history. The GOAT, Tom Brady, returning to New England for the first time. We all know Brady's story and how he left NE and then won the Bucs the Super Bowl in year 1, now we see him face off against the Pats for the first time ever. The energy at Gillette Stadium will be unmatched and it is to be seen how the crowd welcomes him back. How will Brady do against Belichick for the first time. The Pats also are very much improved and have a real shot at beating Brady. It also could be Brady vs Mac Jones which is something fun to think about. There is so much to watch for in this game and I cannot wait to see it on Sunday Night Football. Week 4 Honorable Mentions: Seahawks @ 49ers, Cardinals @ Rams

Week 5: Los Angeles Rams @ Seattle Seahawks (TNF)

What a week this will be. It was a tough choice between this and the Bills vs Chiefs on SNF, but I went with this game ultimately. There are again, so many things to see in this. First off, a major divisional showdown that will have MASSIVE playoff implications. Second, the Seahawks will look for revenge on the Rams for shocking them in round 1 of the playoffs this year. Third, Matthew Stafford's first game against the Hawks for the Rams. The rivalry will have a fresh face. Finally, it will be a night, primetime game at Lumen Field in Seattle. The fans will be back and there is probably nowhere louder in the NFL than Lumen on a primetime night game. This would be an insanely fun game to be at. Week 5 Honorable Mentions: Bills @ Chiefs, Colts @ Ravens

Week 6: Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears (1:00 pm ET)

Picking the game for this week was hard, not because there was so many games to choose from, but because the lack of great games during this week. The Packers and Bears tops this week for me. At very worst, this is one of the best and oldest rivalries in football and every game seems to be fun to watch between these two. Now enter the QB situation. We could see Aaron Rodgers vs the future of the NFC North in Justin Fields. We could also see Jordan Love vs Fields if Rodgers is gone. It may be Dalton vs Rodgers or Love but still. The possibilities and rivalry make this game the one to watch in week 6. Week 6 Honorable Mentions: Chiefs @ Washington Football Team, Bills @ Titans

Week 7: Detroit Lions @ Los Angeles Rams (4:05 pm ET)

Another week with not many amazing options, this game is the best one. We will see Jared Goff vs Matthew Stafford but against each other on their new squads. Goff was coddled by the Rams for so long but the team finally realized they needed to move him if they wanted to win a title, now how will they plan to make his life miserable? The Lions don't have anything really to prove this season and that is scary for contending teams that they face. They have nothing to lose while the Rams have everything to. A major upset by the Lions here wouldn't shock me and it would have the NFL world on fire. This will be a fun one to watch. Week 7 Honorable Mentions: Saints @ Seahawks, Washington Football Team @ Packers

Week 8: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns (1:00 pm ET)

Just like the Seahawks/Rams and Packers/Bears games I talked about earlier, the Steelers/Browns has become quite the rivalry over the past few years. This will be the teams' first meeting against each other since the Browns dismantled the Steelers in the wildcard round this past post-season. The animosity will be high and we will see two really talented teams going at it. How will both top end defenses fare? What will Najee Harris do in his first game against the Browns? It should have major playoff implications as well. Week 8 Honorable Mentions: Giants @ Chiefs, Patriots @ Chargers

Week 9: Green Bay Packers @ Kansas City Chiefs (4:25 pm ET)

So much hangs on if Aaron Rodgers is still on the Packers for this one and many games over the course of this season. Since he is still on the team right now, we are going to go with it for now. This game would be must see TV. If Rodgers is on the Packers, this game needs to be flexed to primetime. Two of the game's best QBs. Two of the most explosive offenses. A game many thought would be last year's Super Bowl. The last 2 league MVPs have never played against each other and it would be quite the game to see. If Rodgers stays in Green Bay, this could be the game of the year with both sides trying to knock each other atop the rankings in their respective conferences. Week 9 Honorable Mentions: Cardinals @ 49ers, Browns @ Bengals

Week 10: Los Angeles Rams @ San Fransisco 49ers (MNF)

Everyone is going to be watching this Monday Night showdown. The NFC West is the best division in football and two of the teams in it face off on primetime in this. The Niners and Rams are both among the NFC's Super Bowl favorites along with other teams like Seattle and Green Bay. Not only that but they are in the same division like I said earlier which makes this even better. We will see 2 of the league's best offensive coaches, 2 of the league's best defenses, and many of the league's biggest stars all out for this game. This game is sure to have massive playoff implications along with the fact that it is one of the best rivalries in the NFL. I cannot wait. Week 10 Honorable Mentions: Seahawks @ Packers, Jaguars @ Colts

Week 11: New York Giants @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (MNF)

This is one of those rare weeks again where there are no crazy games that jump out at you. The Giants/Bucs won ultimately won for the week's best game partly also because it is a primetime night game. We saw this match last year and the game came down to the very last play and ended with a controversial no call on a 2pt attempt by the Giants to win them the game which would have seen them pull off a major upset on the eventual Super Bowl champs. The Giants have always given Tom Brady trouble as we know and this game should be no exception. The Giants are much improved after a great off-season and have an elite defense along with an offense that could be elite as well if Daniel Jones improves. The Bucs are Super Bowl favorites while the Giants are playoff hopefuls, this game should also carry some meaning for the postseason. Week 11 Honorable Mentions: Ravens @ Bears, Cardinals @ Seahawks

Week 12: Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens (SNF)

There were a bunch of options for this week, but the Ravens and Browns game topped them all. The two best teams in the AFC North, this will be their first meeting of the season and it should go a long way towards deciding playoff seeding and likely the winner of the division. Last time we saw these two teams play (late last season), it was the game of the year. Both teams scored over 40 points in a shootout that saw Baltimore winning on a long range Justin Tucker field goal. This will surely be a game to see. Week 12 Honorable Mentions: Rams @ Packers, Seahawks @ Washington Football Team

Week 13: San Fransisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks (SNF)

This is why the NFC West is so good. All the teams are so good and each game against each other instantly has a ton of meaning for playoffs and bragging rights. This will be these teams second meeting of the season so one team will be fighting to even the series while the other will try and complete the sweep. The Hawks swept the banged up Niners last year so the Niners will be looking for revenge. Two of the NFC's best teams facing off late in the season will carry major playoff implications. Who will be at QB for the Niners at this point? Will it be Lance vs Wilson? The Hawks and Niners never disappoint and it will be exciting to see this in the Sunday Night atmosphere of Lumen Field in Seattle. Week 13 Honorable Mentions: Chargers @ Bengals, Ravens @ Steelers

Week 14: Buffalo Bills @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4:25 pm ET)

NFL, why isn't this a PRIMETIME game?! Another potential Super Bowl match-up, this game will be so fun to watch. The Bills and Bucs each are among the best teams in the league and we never got to see them face off last season. Now we get to. Josh Allen vs Tom Brady. The Bills D vs the Bucs O and the Bills O vs the Bucs D. There will be some elite players on the field and this game will set the winner up really nicely heading towards the playoffs and the loser will have to dig themselves out of the hole that this game will leave them in. This was almost the Super Bowl match last year and it very well could be this year. Out of all the games we go over in this article, this is one of the very best. Week 14 Honorable Mentions: Rams @ Cardinals, Bears @ Packers

Week 15: Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers (TNF)

I know I have given the Chiefs a lot of love in this post, but it makes sense. They are one of the league's best, why wouldn't they show up here a lot. The Chargers deserve more love on this list. They are a dark horse Super Bowl contender this year and I expect them to make the playoffs at the very least. This will be their second game against KC of the year but it being so late in the year I could see it having big playoff implications. I think there is even a world where the Chargers could push the Chiefs for the AFC West crown. They split games last year and even almost swept the Chiefs by almost beating them in Justin Herbert's first career start early last season. Two of the best young QBs in the league facing off in a divisional game on primetime? Sign me up! Week 15 Honorable Mentions: Seahawks @ Rams, Cowboys @ Giants

Week 16: Jacksonville Jaguars @ New York Jets (1:00 pm ET)

It feels good writing down two teams that we haven't talked about yet. Here we see the future of the NFL facing off against each other. No. 1 pick of 2021 Trevor Lawrence and the Jags vs no. 2 pick Zach Wilson and the Jets. I expect both teams to be middle of the pack so this game in itself won't matter too much but seeing Lawrence and Wilson dueling will be fun. If these guys really are both future franchise QBs for their squads, this could be a shootout and something fun to watch for fantasy football playoffs. Week 16 Honorable Mentions: Browns @ Packers, Giants @ Eagles

Week 17: Miami Dolphins @ Tennessee Titans (1:00 pm ET)

Again I get to write two new teams! At first glance, this might not seem like a great game, but think about it. These were two teams that were pretty good in 2020. The Titans made the playoffs and the Dolphins just missed them. While the Dolphins improved a lot in the off-season, the Titans got a bit worse. This game in the second to last week of the season could leave one of these teams in as one of the last seeds and the other just barely outside. I think at least one of these teams will make the playoffs. Also, Ryan Tannehill vs the Dolphins, that will be a fun storyline to add on. Week 17 Honorable Mentions: Rams @ Ravens, Browns @ Steelers

Week 18: Washington Football Team @ New York Giants (1:00 pm ET)

In the final week of the season, this game could decide the NFC East. I think the WFT, the Giants, and the Cowboys all could win this division, so two of them facing off here is going to probably be must watch. The winner/loser of this game could also create a scenario where Dallas gets in if one team loses and doesn't if the opposite happens. So many scenarios and possibilities but I really think the NFC East could come down to this game. Two elite defenses will try and make the other team's QB miserable. This game would likely get flexed to the SNF game if it is as important as I expect it to be. Week 18 Honorable Mentions: 49ers @ Rams, Cowboys @ Eagles
