Predicting the Next 5 Super Bowls

Image
These few weeks in between the Super Bowl and free agency actually opening are a bit slow for the NFL and its fans. While we have the combine to look forward to this weekend, that still isn't much. Today I thought I'd predict the next 5 Super Bowl match-ups and their winners just for fun. I've seen a lot of people do this and I figured I would myself. This is purely for fun and speculation and so pretty much nothing you see in this article will have a ton of credibility behind it, but it would be cool to see looking back on this if any of these were at all right in any way (maybe a predicted winner is correct or team that at least went to the Super Bowl in that year). Lets get into this! Super Bowl LVIII (58) - Cincinnati Bengals vs. Philadelphia Eagles Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada Starting obviously with our upcoming season's big game, give me two teams coming off of a dramatic loss in the 2022-23 post-season that should have them even more hungry than before...

Best & Worst Free Agent Signings of 2022 Off-Season (ONE YEAR LATER)

Image
With free agency opening up soon and the franchise tag window officially open, before I release any kind of FA list or anything like that, I thought it would be fun to look back at last off-season's deals and see which ended up being the best signings AND the worst as well. I also am looking back on my top 101 FAs of the off-season and showing where these players ranked on that list at time (or if they weren't even ranked at all). BEST Geno Smith, Quarterback - 1 year/$3.5 million to the Seahawks FA Rank (at the time): Not Ranked The unquestioned best free agent signing of the 2022 off-season has to be QB Geno Smith. When Smith signed this near minimum deal to return to Seattle and compete for the starting job, no one gave it a second thought. This deal happened awhile after the opening day of FA, which just adds to what this deal was thought of at the time. Smith had not cracked by top 101 FA list either. What a bargain this turned out to be for Seattle. Smith won the starti...

Trade Match-Maker 2023: Perfect Fits for Potential Stars on the Move

Image
Last off-season, we did a 'trade match-maker', predicting big name vets who could be traded and deciding where they might go and for what value. Today we will do the same, but for 2023 candidates! We correctly predicted 4 players who would go on to be traded and we got one perfect fit as well (picking Khalil Mack to the Chargers). We will hope to do even better today! DeAndre Hopkins, Wide Receiver, Arizona Cardinals → Chicago Bears for a 2023 3rd rounder One of the biggest names that is surely on the trade block this off-season is none other then DeAndre Hopkins! I cannot wait to see where he does go. I'm predicting that Hopkins will be a Chicago Bear. The Cardinals are entering rebuild mode, and with Hopkins making a fair amount of money and reaching 30 years of age, it makes sense for the team to part ways with him. Hopkins HAD a no-trade clause in his contract, but his PED suspension got that voided, so now the Cards can move him wherever they want. With that recent n...

2023 Mock Draft 2.0 (with trades!): MULTIPLE Moves within Top 3??

Image
Mock draft season is really upon us now! About a month ago following the conclusion of the regular season, I dropped my mock draft 1.0., but now its getting real with the off-season underway for all 32 teams and the order set! In that first mock I also did not include mock trades, but for today's, I will have them! This is going to be fun, and the first of many this off-season. I'm excited to look back at this when making my final mock in April before the draft and seeing how much it has changed in just the matter of off-season months with the combine, workouts, rumors, trades, FA signings, and more! Lets get into this one, and we will kick it off with a TRADE for pick 1! MOCK TRADE: Chicago Bears send pick #1 and a 2024 sixth rounder to the Indianapolis Colts for pick #4, 2023 fifth rounder, and a 2024 first round pick 1. Indianapolis Colts (via CHI) select: Bryce Young, Quarterback, Alabama It is no secret that the Bears are looking to trade out of the first pick in the 202...

Ranking & Grading Each Head Coaching Hire of '23

Image
The coaching carousel for 2023 is officially complete! Head coaching I mean, as tons of coordinator jobs are still up for grabs, but the 5 HC vacancies have officially been filled with the Arizona Cardinals hiring their man yesterday! Today I will rank the 5 hires and grade them all as well, because while I may love say #4, I can't do him justice without a grade if that makes sense. 5 will be worst, 1 will be best!  5. Jonathan Gannon → Arizona Cardinals Grade: D+ Yeah, I hated this one. There is not much at all I like about it. First of all, if you are going to hire a defensive head coach, Gannon was not even remotely close to the best name available. The Cardinals were reportedly down to Gannon and Bengals DC Lou Anarumo for the job, and ultimately wound up picking Gannon. Yuck! Anarumo is a much more veteran and proven coordinator, with multiple seasons of extremely impressive work in Cinncy behind him, while Gannon has basically just 1 season of good defensive coaching, ...

Every Team's BIGGEST 2023 Off-Season Need

Image
Well, just like that, the 2022-23 season is in the books! What a year it was, and while it is quite sad that we won't have NFL football for 6 months, the off-season will be underway in no time and that is like Christmas for football fans. Bad teams reign supreme in the draft while contenders add talent to try and push themselves over the edge. This off-season is setting up for one with a lot of drama, especially with all of the pending QB movement we will see. My first article of this off-season is each team's biggest need heading into the off year. It is a good way to see where teams will need to start and what they could target.  Detroit Lions: Cornerback Starting out with a team that we all believe to make a return to the post-season in 2023, the Lions have a huge need at the cornerback position. Former top 3 pick Jeff Okudah did show some flashes of greatness in his healthiest season yet as a pro, but he is not close to enough. While the Detroit D as a whole played its b...
