Predicting the Next 5 Super Bowls

These few weeks in between the Super Bowl and free agency actually opening are a bit slow for the NFL and its fans. While we have the combine to look forward to this weekend, that still isn't much. Today I thought I'd predict the next 5 Super Bowl match-ups and their winners just for fun. I've seen a lot of people do this and I figured I would myself. This is purely for fun and speculation and so pretty much nothing you see in this article will have a ton of credibility behind it, but it would be cool to see looking back on this if any of these were at all right in any way (maybe a predicted winner is correct or team that at least went to the Super Bowl in that year). Lets get into this!

Super Bowl LVIII (58) - Cincinnati Bengals vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada

Starting obviously with our upcoming season's big game, give me two teams coming off of a dramatic loss in the 2022-23 post-season that should have them even more hungry than before to win a Super Bowl. The Bengals lost a heartbreaker in the AFC title game to KC off a penalty, while the Eagles came up just short in the actual Super Bowl due to a penalty as well. The battle of the teams screwed by penalties if you will. I see Joe Burrow potentially winning league MVP in 2023 with a Bengals squad that got even more improved this off-season. The Eagles on the other hand are bound to lose at least a few key starters to FA this off-season, but with two 1st-round picks in the 2023 draft, they will have some new young talent as well. Jalen Hurts will keep ascending and in a weak NFC, the Eagles roll their way through again. In the big game, I expect another shootout like Super Bowl 57, and sadly enough for Philly, I see them coming up just short again. Joe Burrow finally gets his first ring, hoisting the Lombardi in Las Vegas and giving the franchise its first title. I'd expect Ja'Marr Chase to go nuclear in this one.
Score: Bengals 37, Eagles 34

Super Bowl LIX (59) - Seattle Seahawks vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Caesar's Super Dome, New Orleans, Louisiana

Following the Bengals' SB58 title, we see neither team from that game return the following year. Like I have said numerous times in the past, I expect the Chiefs and Bengals to sort of rotate AFC titles over the next decade or so. That is exactly what plays out here, as the Chiefs return to the big game once again following a one-year hiatus. Two years into the future and this Chief team remains very similar. Mahomes and Kelce are still slinging it, and I think they have a new electric WR1 that they picked up in the 2023 NFL draft by the name of Nathaniel Dell from Houston (look him up). On the other side, the NFC is developing back into a competitive conference again. Geno Smith remains Seattle's QB and he is lighting it up. DK Metcalf had a career season and Tyler Lockett remains an 1,000 yard machine. Ken Walker is still RB1 with Rashaad Penny as an elite RB2. The difference between this team and the 2022 Seahawks is the defense. It is now LEGIT. Tariq Woolen has blossomed into a top 3 corner in the game and runs the D. Seattle picked up Jalen Carter in the 2023 draft who is a menace on the interior. In an instant classic Super Bowl, Smith throws it all over the yard in a famous sort of 'last stand' or last hurrah while the defense dominates. The Chiefs are still the team to be reckoned with in the NFL, but think of this game as like Brady losing to Foles. Seattle wins their second franchise title 10 years after the infamous Malcolm Butler INT in Super Bowl 49.
Score: Seahawks 28, Chiefs 23

Super Bowl LX (60) - Detroit Lions vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

More turnover in the big game, like usual. Super Bowl 60 is a big one, as are all the multiples of 10 ones, and it will feature two teams who have been so starved of post-season success all-time. This one will be 'America's Super Bowl'! The Lions looked extremely promising in 2022 and look to be headed for a lot of success. That success finally stacks up in the 2025-26 season as Jared Goff and Dan Campbell lead this team to the Super Bowl. D'Andre Swift remains in the backfield along with Amon-Ra St. Brown still WR1. The defense has really turned around though, with Jalen Ramsey (in his third season now with the team) remaining a top 5 CB in football. Aidan Hutchinson has developed into a DPOY winner, totaling 17.5 sacks and 2 INTs en route to winning the award. On the other side, Trevor Lawrence and Doug Pederson finally find a way to buck the trend, defeating both Cincinnati AND Kansas City on their way to the big game. Travis Etienne has a career year, totaling 20 all-purpose TDs while Trevor Lawrence cements himself as a top 3 QB with an MVP winning season. Current Ohio State WR Emeka Egbuka landed with Jacksonville in the 2024 draft and becomes the elite WR1 in Duval to pair with Christian Kirk. On defense, Travon Walker has come into his own with a 15 sack season to propel the Jag D. In a defensive game, Aidan Hutchinson produces a safety early on while Jalen Ramsey records a game-sealing pick 6 in the final minutes to propel the Lions over the Jags for the team's first Lombardi ever!
Score: Lions 23, Jaguars 17

Super Bowl LXI (61) - New Orleans Saints vs. Buffalo Bills

Four years into the future, this is not the game it might look like to the naked eye as a time-traveler from 2023. The Saints were the worst team in football in the 2023-24 season, winding them up with the no. 1 pick in the 2024 draft and the right to select none other than the presumed generational QB from USC, Caleb Williams. Showing signs of major improvement every season, Williams finally breaks through in 2023, winning league MVP and sending his Saints to the big game. It took a fair amount of roster re-shuffling, but these Saints are back to being real contenders again for the first time since Drew Brees. On the other side, the Bills are led to the Super Bowl by a QB from the 2018 NFL draft...Lamar Jackson! With Jackson remaining in Baltimore after the standoff in the 2023 off-season, both the Ravens and Bills went nowhere with their 2018 QBs. Both teams decided it was time for a change in 2026, trading Jackson for Josh Allen straight up. In his first year with Buffalo, things immediately improved for Jackson. Paired with the best RB in the NFL, Bijan Robinson, and a still elite Stefon Diggs along with young TE Tucker Kraft, this Bill offense was the best in football. The problem with Buffalo, is their defense. Old and expensive, Caleb Williams exploits them in a shootout of a Super Bowl. Chris Olave scores 2 TDs while Williams throws 4 total TDs and runs one in himself and the Saints come away with another Lombardi.
Score: Saints 38, Bills 27

Super Bowl LXII (62) - Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Ah, and it all comes full circle. Five years later, the two teams who just met in the Super Bowl meet once again. This one feels somewhat similar, but a lot different too. Both QBs remain the same, and elite as ever. Jalen Hurts wins league MVP in 2027, as he has 10 rushing TDs and 35 passing TDs, and all-time season. Patrick Mahomes throws 40 TDs himself. Devonta Smith and AJ Brown remain WRs 1A and 1B in Philly, and Nathaniel Dell is remains a perennial Pro Bowler in KC. However, both Kelce brothers are retired now and that veteran Eagle O and DL is completely revamped. Chris Jones remains in KC, but the Chiefs too have assembled a very new front 7, one that is greatly buoyed by former Army edge rusher Andre Carter II who is coming off a 15 sack season himself. The difference this time around, is young Eagle CB Christian Gonzalez (formerly of Oregon), picks off Mahomes on a game sealing drive, and brings Philly home to victory. Jalen Hurts has his redemption, and Mahomes has now failed to win a Super Bowl for 5 seasons...
Score: Eagles 40, Chiefs 34

There you have it, the next 5 Super Bowl winners will be the Bengals, Seahawks, Lions, Saints, and Eagles!
